If you start the pill on any other day of your cycle, you will need to use a backup method of contraception (such as condoms) for the first 7 days. 

It is important to take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. If you forget to take a dosage, do so as soon as you recall unless your next dose is practically due. In this case, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the regular time. Do not take two doses of the pill at the same time.
